The Rad Foundation is a fully volunteer-run organization dedicated to supporting the development of recreational and leisure sports that promote fun, social connection, community-building, and physical activity.
When we take part in recreational and leisure sports, we experience more than just movement — we tap into flow, rhythm, creativity, and shared moments with others. This synergy activates a powerful mix of brain chemicals like dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins — the very things that help us feel alive, connected, and fulfilled.
By creating more recreational spaces, we’re not just building places to move — we’re helping shape healthier, happier futures for everyone. Investing in these spaces means investing in the well-being, cohesion, and resilience of our communities, with long-term benefits that far outweigh the costs.
We chose the nonprofit model because we believe recreational spaces are a form of community infrastructure — something that should exist to benefit people first. Operating as a volunteer-run society allows us to focus on long-term community impact rather than profit, while ensuring donations and support go directly toward projects, advocacy, and the development of recreational sports spaces.
The Rad Foundation is a registered society in British Columbia (BN: 73453 1072 BC0001 | Society No. S0073176). While we are not yet a registered charity, becoming one is part of our long-term vision. In the meantime, we remain fully volunteer-run, meaning 100% of donations go directly toward our mission of expanding recreational sports spaces and strengthening community well-being.
